SAI EE Welcomes the Nu Iota Chapter!

Saturday April 25th 2026 marked the birthday of a brand new chapter of SAI in the Chi A Province! Welcome sisters of Nu Iota to our rose garden! 

12 sisters were initiated, 7 collegiate and 5 original petitioning members who got to witness the fruits of their labor and are now Millersville alumni. Their over 2 years of hard work earned them their very own chapter. Their petitioning group started January of 2024, and in their first semester of petitioning they raised almost $1,900! Throughout this process of becoming their own chapter, they diligently tabled to promoted their charter and music as a whole.

Cassidy McNew, the president of the petitioning group, shares that, “from my first meeting with Mary and several Millersville University students who wanted to be a part of this journey, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It is hard to comprehend that we finally got to this point after countless hoops and setbacks…” Cass reflects on the bond that petitioning for this chapter created, “I have never been more proud of a group of people than I am for everyone that I now get to call my sisters. We all have been through so much together both in and outside of Sigma Alpha Iota to the point we did not even need to be initiated to call ourselves sisters. This is a new level of friendship and sisterhood that I am so happy to have finally unlocked after countless hours and weeks of hard work. It feels so good to finally say we are the Nu Iota chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota at Millersville University. We did it!”

Witnessing this new chapter initiation and the initiation of 12 new and excited sisters was honestly life changing. SAI EE has been around for 58 years, and it made me reflect upon what our own petitioning group must have gone through just to achieve the privilege we have today. It was beautiful to witness the sheer pride and excitement radiating from these girls on their initiation day. These girls are role models. Their hard work is inspiring. Saturday was a beautiful day in SAI history!
